Safety update 2011 REACH / GHS
Recently one of the raw materials (nitrate salt) that was labeled as harmless now is labeled harmfull if swallowed and as eye irritant. As a result the Kemdirect toilet granulate formulation now has the following safety information:
Harmful if swallowed. Risk of serious damage to eyes.
Keep out of the reach of children Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear eye protection. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.
The (old) boxes now sold have an extra label and as from now all produced sachets will have the same updated information.
The formulation is the same as are all the benifits are. It remains eco friendly and therfor completely safe for the sewage treatment.
Main ingredient is an oxygen providing mineral. Secondly we used an ingredient that neutralizes sulphur containing odorants like hydrogen sulphide (rotten eggs) and mercaptans (rotten cabbage). Thirdly the pH is regulated to keep other odorants (like ammonia and fatty acids) dissolved in the water.
Because the degradation, say composting, already starts in the holding tank less oxygen (energy) is needed during the waste treatment process. The aerobic composting bacteria are stimulated#.
